Council of Ministers of BIH Holds Its 29th Extraordinary Session

ADOPED REVISED STATE STRATEGY FOR WORK ON WAR CRIME FILES 

Council of Ministers of BIH adopted unanimously the Ministry of Justice-proposed Revised State Strategy for Work on War Crime Files, including Annexes A and B, so that processing of the war crime files in BIH would be completed by the end of 2023.

The Revised Strategy would, among other things, align court practices in war crime files so as to ensure legal security and equality of citizens before the law, with securing and up-grading of protection, support and equal treatment of all victims and witnesses in procedures before courts inBIH.
The Strategy Annex B defines certain obligations of the BIH Prosecutorial Office in view of provision of information on files and natural persons with previously holding an “A” mark, the procedure for which had been previously handed over to the Entity and Brčko District Prosecutorial Offices.

Also, stressed was the improvement of relevant cooperation with countries of the region, in accordance with international standards and principles, international bilateral and multilateral agreements, as well as protocols and other regulations dealing with mutual cooperation.

The Ministry of Justice of BIH will within 30 days now provide to the Council of Ministers in a Proposal Decision on setting-up a Supervision Body for implementation monitoring of the Revised State Strategy for work on war crime files.
