BIH FOREIGN TRADE EXCHANGE 

 

The Council of Ministers of BIH adopted the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations-tabled 2023 Bosnia and Herzegovina Foreign Trade Exchange Analysis.

The total goods exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the first half of 2023 was KM 2 billion and 300.63 million, of which the value of the exported goods was KM 8 billion and 682.4 million, and the imported one was KM 13 billion and 618 million, while the foreign trade deficit was KM 936.55 million.

The total foreign trade exchange marks a decline for 2.14% relative to the same time period last year, with a fall of import for 0.61% and export for 4.46%, while foreign trade deficit increased for 6.99%.

The European Union is still the main foreign trade partner, participating in total volume of goods exchange with 64.26%, followed by the CEFTA 2006 country-signatories with 14.33% and other counties with 21.44% share.

The major coverage of import by export in the first half of this year was made with Austria 176.59%, Croatia 136.22%, Slovenia 126.72, Germany 88.04%, and Serbia 76.83%.

MINISTER AMIDŽIĆ BIH GOVERNOR IN WORLD BANK

The Council of Ministers of BIH appointed new Minister of Finance and Treasury of BIH Srđan Amidžić for Governor of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the World Bank.

He will replace former Minister Zoran Tegletija, incumbent Manager of the Indirect Taxation Administration of BH.

BREAKDOWN OF REALSIATION OF CoM CONCLUSIONS

The session considered a review of realisation of Council of Ministers conclusions, taken in Jan 1 – June 30, 2023 time period, to include conclusions from 22 sessions, 16 regular and six extraordinary ones.

The Review covered 33 institutions of the Council of Ministers of BIH, which realised 351 out of 432 or 81% of conclusions, while 81 conclusions were not realised.

The review, drafted by the Council of Ministers Secretariat-General, was followed by decisions as to the appropriate conclusions implementation acceleration and thereby the improvement of the Council of Ministers of BIH efficacy.

APPOINMTENTS TO REGIONAL YOUTH COOPERATION OFFICE STEERING BOARD

The session appointed Zorana Tovlović-Glavaš, representative of youth NGOs in BIH and first ranked candidate at an implemented public call procedure, for member of the Regional Youth Cooperation Office (RYCO) Steering Board.

Previously, Adviser to Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of BIH Ivan Ćubela was appointed member of the RYCO Steering Board, as the Council of Ministers representative until the expiry of his term of Adviser, after previous CoM representative Davor Bošnjak was released from the duty upon the end of his term of Head of Office of the Minister of Civil Affairs of BIH.

Bosnia and Herzegovina signed an Agreement on Regional Youth Cooperation Office, at the Western Balkan Leaders Summit in Paris in July 2016, the mission of which is to support projects developed by youth in the Western Balkans region.

CONSENT TO APPOINTMENT

Upon a proposal by the Ministry of foreign Affairs, a consent as granted for appointment of Ensign Alie Taylor to the post of Assistant Defence Attaché of the United States of America in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
