BIH in EU “Creative Europe” Programme till 2027 

The Council of Ministers of BIH defined the Ministry of Civil Affairs-drafted Proposal Agreement between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the European Union on BIH participation in the EU “Creative Europe” Programme for culture and creativity sectors, for the aim of inclusion of BIH cultural and creative sectors into EU industries of culture and creativity.

The proposal Agreement will be provided to the BIH Presidency for further procedure, with a proposal for the Minister of Civil Affairs as the BIH signatory thereof.

The new 2021-2027 agreement is a sequel of participation Bosnia and Herzegovina in the EU “Creative Europe” Programme, after reaching a considerable successfulness level in the previous 2014-2020 cycle.

The Agreement will contribute to strengthening of Bosnia and Herzegovina – European Union relations, with reaching a n increased togetherness with EU members. Simultaneously, affiliation in the Programme will enable BIH creative sectors to increase their contribution to employment and growth.

The entry ticket to the “Creative Europe programme” for BHI will amount total EUR 1,838,000 for seven years, provided that it amounted EUR 219,999 for year 2021, and will be incrementally increased till year 2027, when it will amount EUR 356,000. A part of finances was planned to me made-up through IPA mechanism.

The “Creative Europe” Programme, with total budget of EUR 2.4 billion for 2021-2027 supports artists, experts in the area of culture and audio-visual arts, and organisation of performing and fine arts,  publishing, TV, music, interdisciplinary arts, heritage, and vio games industry.

Joint Sales of Ex-SFRY buildings in New York and Bern

The Council of Ministers of BIH took the Ministry of Foreign Affairs-proposed decision to approve joint sales of ex-SFRY permanent mission in UN buildings  in ne York, for which no ex-SFRY successor state show interest for.

Simultaneously, the council of Ministers took note of relevant piece of information on the real estate sales and of a Draft Sales Agreement  - “Residential contract of Sale” – necessary for completion of the procedure of joint sales by successor states.

The Joint Committee for distribution of diplomatic-consular property of ex-SFRY accept the purchase price in amount fo USD 50 mil, which is the highest amount, since of last offered one as USD 42.5 mil.

The part of Bosnia and Herzegovina is 15% of total amount or USD 7.5 mil. (KM12,530,000). The division of possible costs of the relevant real estate sales will be same in the same manner.

The Council of Ministers took the Ministry of Civil Affairs-proposed decision on sales of a joint premises of ex-SFRY embassy/residence building in Bern, after it took note of the accompanying piece of information and draft purchase agreement.

Earlier, the Joint committee for distribution of ex-SFRY diplomatic-consular property accepted the purchase price f the republic of Serbia in total amount of CHF 7.78 mil.

As the Republic of Serbia is one of five co-owners of the real estate, CHF 4.706.900 represent the buy off of the co-owners share from other four countries (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republic of Croatia, North Macedonia and Republic of Slovenia).

Bosnia and Herzegovina is entitled to 15%, or CHF 1,167,000 or about KM 2.1 million.

These two decisions enable continuation of implementation of Annex B of the Agreement on Succession Issues and solves the issue of diplomatic-consular property of ex-SFRY.

The funds received by the real estate sales will be used for purchase of new and reconstruction of the existing buildings for the needs of accommodation of diplomatic-consular network staff of BIH. (end)
