Council of Ministers Holds Its 20th Extraordinary Phone Session
12/14/2023
The Council of Ministers of BIH adopted and will pass to the BIH Parliamentarian Assembly a Proposal Law on Anti-Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism Activities, which will be harmonised with relevant EU directives and regulations.
By adoption of the law with “EI” mark, Bosnia and Herzegovina wants to improve its capacities for a more effective combating against money laundering and financing of terrorism for benefit of business community and citizens of BIH.
The Proposal Law is one among 14 key priorities from the European Commission Opinion, and by its adoption, the Council of Ministers of BIH - in its anticipation to get a date for start of EU membership negotiations - sends a strong message to the European Council, discussing the EU enlargement policy.
The new law harmonises the anti-money laundering and financing of terrorism system in BIH with standards of FATF and Moneyval from the latest evaluation cycle.
The incumbent Council of Ministers of BIH adopted a regulation on amendments and supplements of the Regulation on Implementation of Law on Anti-Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism Activities. (end)
