The Council of Ministers, at its extraordinary, phone, session adopted the Ministry of Civil Affairs-submitted piece of information on a need to conclude a SFC Indemnification Contract between the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Janssen Pharmaceuticals NV, and endorsed a SFC Indemnification Contract between the Council of Ministers of BIH and Janssen Pharmaceuticals NV.

It is a type contract, equal for all members of COVAX (Instrument for Global Access to Vaccine against Covid-19 Disease), which is an earlier assumed obligation.

This creates conditions for delivery of earlier paid vaccines produced by Johnson/Johnson from the COVAX system for BIH, which aims vaccination of citizens, as the most effective protection from Covid-19 and most effective way of containing pandemics.

BIH signed a contract with COVAX on September 18, 2020 for delivery of one million 232k vaccines, worth USD 12,997,600 (complete amount paid on December 18, 2020), of which BIH got only one third, 332.640 vaccines.

Within COVAX, Bosnia and Herzegovina got allocated 50,400 dozes of Johnson/Johnson vaccines against coronavirus, and the seventh delivery under the programme has been announced. (end)
