Chairwoman Krišto at Opening of 24th International Economic Fair in Mostar

Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Brojana Krišto addressed at a solemn opening of the 24th International Economic Fair in Mostar, on which occasion where expressed her particular thankfulness to the Fair partner-country Israel to time and energy it committed in organisation of one among the most important events in Bosnia and Herzegovina. 

In her address, Chairwoman Krišto said that the International Economic Fair in Mostar us a symbol of shared devotedness to economic development of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region. The International Economic Fair in Mostar has, with tis long-years tradition, grown into a gathering venue of all key stakeholders in economy of Bosnia and Herzegovina, neighbourhood and beyond, proven by solid partnerships with international corporations and foreign countries. The Chairwoman said the Fair, judging by the range of interest and number of registered participants, justified this year its role as a leading economic promotor in region. For this reason merely, it comes clear that the Mostar Economic Fair is not an event of local character, but rather an established venue with its history, and which, ignoring borders, keeps growing continuously.

It is a mirror of our entrepreneurship, especially family type, and women’s and youth entrepreneurship, crucial for development of any economy, since it brings about new jobs, innovations and improvement of competitiveness”, Chairwoman Krišto said.

The Chairwoman said that Fair will be a place of meeting of authorities, as well as of creative persons, visionaries, and professionals, which would will create a fair ground for building confidence and cooperation, as a good chance for creation of new bridges and business opportunities. Finally, it is a chance and opportunity for all those desirous to expand its business to new markets or link with tis strategic partners. She emphasised that a dynamic and fruitful economic cooperation is a key of economic growth and development of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and if the region, as well. It is especially relevant when the world, region and Bosnia and Herzegovina itself face different crises, bringing along strong inflatory pressures price growth of energy, food and raw materials.  All these facts require a unique engagement of all market stakeholders, so that a contribution might be delivered for mitigation of crisis consequences and creation of favourable business climate. In that ambience, Chairwoman Krišto stressed, the Mostar Fair is the best stage for innovations and product launch, creation of new business opportunities and an increase of visibility though exchange of knowledge and experiences, which all produce an encouraging signal to both domestic and foreign investors to invest in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This way, sustainable jobs are created, to enable finally a positive demographic impact, economic growth and overall socio-economic development.

The Chairwoman underlined that Israel is one of the most advanced countries in the world by innovations, technology and science. She turned especially to the fact that the economic growth of the State of Israel makes over the past years extraordinary figures, so that this Fair is rightly the excellent opportunity to learn from this friendly contry.

As one of the aims of the International Economic Fair in Mostar is the establishment of new business ties and meaningful exchange of ideas and experiences, Chairwoman Krišto expressed her confidence that following fruitful partnerships with the Republic of Croatia, Republic of Serbia, Hungary, People’s Republic of China, the partnership with the State of Israel is an extraordinary chance to connect our two countries and contribute to strengthening of economic cooperation. The partnership is certainly the chance for BIH companies to learn about innovative products and services from Israel and to present their products at international market.

“I am deeply convinced that our future cooperation will bring out benefits to the countries. This fair is a step in the right direction and best way to show our readiness to work on development together. I believe that this friendship will open new gates of cooperation and create new possibilities for joint prosperity”, Krišto said in her address.

Chairwoman Krišto thanked once again to organisers and Israel, partner-country, for invitation and participation, while to entrepreneurs and visitors, she wished productive meetings and good cooperation. (end)
